Explore Bamfield

Visit West Bamfield and walk the must-do Bamfield Boardwalk, with its clapboard houses, Cougar Pass (young males should walk in groups), the Boardwalk Bistro, Bamfield Mercantile and Marine store, Rose’s post office, Canadian Life Saving Station, and find your way too Bamfield’s favourite, Brady’s Beach.

Discover local beaches

Visit Brady's Beach on the west side of Bamfield, or drive out to Pachena Beach, or hike to one of the many beaches in PRNP. Have a picnic, and go for a swim, practice your photography skills.

Sports fishing

Barkley Sound is a prime destination for saltwater sports fishing adventures  - bring your own boat or book a charter. The Bamfield Chamber of Commerce website provides links to sports fishing charter companies, and more!

Wildlife & adventure tours

Watch humpback whales in action, visit sea lion haul outs, go SCUBA diving tour, or go kayaking, hiking, and more.

Kayaking

Enjoy a peaceful paddle in Bamfield or Grappler Inlets, or experience kayak and camping adventures in the Deer and Broken Group Islands.

Wilderness hiking & backpacking

Explore the many trails around Bamfield and in Pacific Rim National Park Reserve, the northern terminus of the West Coast Trail. Do a day-hike with the family, or embark on a wilderness backpacking adventure.

Educational experience at BMSC

Come for a tour, or bring your family for an afternoon of marine science education at the Bamfield Marine Sciences Centre.
